Conquer Your TBR #3

As of this post, I have 624 Books I Want To Read on goodreads.com! Now it’s time to be ruthless and figure out why 🤷‍♀️ I put it on the list and if I still want to read it. 🤔

Lia at Lost In A Story started this challenge back in 2016! If you want to play along here are the rules:

Thoughts: Heart-wrenching must read. Shows the incredible resilience of the human spirit and what atrocities we are capable of. Sadly this amazing survivor passed away in 2016.

Verdict: Keep ✅

Thoughts: I think I understand the basic concepts of this author’s message. I don’t need to read this to know he focuses on very traditional roles in marriage.

Verdict: Remove 🚫

Thoughts: I have never been interested in F. Scott Fitzgerald or his wife Zelda and while this book is thoroughly researched, I’d rather spend my time on a different biography. Maybe I’ll watch the Amazon adaptation with Christina Ricci

Thoughts: This is book two in a series by an author I’ve never heard of! Not sure why it’s on my list.

Thoughts: I’m turned off by the cover and I don’t know this author. The description doesn’t sound like my style.

Thoughts: This author has a new book out called TRUST ME, and this is one of her earlier titles. It’s the first book in the Jane Ryland series. I can’t start another series. Sorry. I’d be open to arguments!

Thoughts: I know. I know. I need to read this. It’s an important part of pop culture and has a great message.

Verdict: Keep ✅

Thoughts: Wow there are a lot of five star reviews. And this author writes a good mystery. Looks interesting. Reviewers say his storytelling ability and prose are unique.

Verdict: Keep ✅

Thoughts: Tough one. Reviews say it’s a thrilling survival story and an exploration of grief, love and humanity. Too many other books out there.

Verdict: Remove 🚫

Thoughts: This is the sequel to Burned. I really enjoyed another book by this author, but unfortunately this one will have to go.
