There are a few book covers I’d like to frame and put on my wall. From January 2018, The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin is probably my favorite cover. And could it fit the theme any better?! (It’s also a really excellent book. Imagine you and your three siblings visited a fortune teller when you were a child and she told each one of you the date of their death. How would you live your life or would you do anything differently?)
Diane Setterfield has a new book coming out in January, Once Upon A River and I’m very drawn to the cover. Her 2006 title, The Thirteenth Tale was masterfully written and I’ll be talking about it in a future Blogoween post. Ms. Setterfield is a master storyteller.
Next up is the 2016 Ghostland by Colin Dickey, a California native. The cover is dark and feels a little like a tombstone which is just spooky enough. Since it’s about debunking and investigating ghost stories, I could definitely read this one. Anyone read it?
Lastly I picked a classic, the 1999 Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt. The cover is lush and overgrown and even though it looks abandoned, the location looks peaceful (but only in the daylight). 😬
