⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book brought me to tears with the emotional topics it touches on. Three friends Georgia, Marley and Emerson meet one summer at “fitness” camp and bond over their shared experiences with being overweight and teased and unable to do normal things like get a piggyback ride. They stay friends and Georgia and Marley end up living in the same building. The day they go see their friend Emerson in the hospital is the last time they see her, she is dying from complications of being obese.

As the two friends mourn their friend they wonder how it got so bad and are determined to honor her last wishes. They must complete a list they made 20 years ago at camp.

I think everyone should read this funny and important story. The author tackles the subject of obesity and eating disorders with sensitivity and intelligence.

The two friends end up learning a lot about themselves and each other. They both learn to be brave and try things outside their comfort zone. The way they honor their friend is a beautiful testament to their friendship.
